Jewel’s First Haircut

October 18th, 2005 by miracleoflife

Today is the 40th day after the grand arrival of Jewel baby. As we did not get hairdresser to cut her hair on her full month, we are doing it today. We called up the hairdresser and brought her down in the morning for her first haircut. Thought everything will be just fine until the hairdresser got her hands and cutter on Jewel! She started to cry and I was fighting back the tears in my eyes. My heart ached upon seeing her lost her hair thinking that she’s so young and here we were forcing it upon her. Seriously, I wouldn’t have sent her for a haircut NOW if i hadn’t read an article saying that babies’ hair would grow back nicer and thicker if they cut it! For this fact and for Jewel, sigh~ guess just have to be hard-hearted lor. Hopefully, I’ll look back in pride and praise myself for doing the right thing! :) Darling, grow up pretty okay? Mummy sayang :)

First Anniversary

October 17th, 2005 by miracleoflife

Wow! So fasr and it’s been a year liao! Last year this time, we held our customary we our wedding buffet at Suntec City. This year this time, we’re embracing our little miracle in our arms :) and what’s more? She’s already 1 month, 1 week and 1 day old! Well, with her around, we really can’t have much of a celebration especially when no one is going to be around to help my mom out in taking care of her (my maid has not arrived yet). Hmmm…what’s for presents? I got a bracelet for the first anniversary :) But I haven’t bought anything for HIM yet! I want to get him a O2 mini but that silly man, so troublesome, said he wanted to retain his current phoneline. His contract has not ended and to think about paying extra $100 for that phone is not worthwhile when we can just wait for another few days to upgrade without extra cost. So, I’ll only get him the phone after Nov 1, 2005, both as his first anniversary gift and only birthday present :) Smart right? That’s what I call 2-in-1! Hahaha :) And as for the day, we really didn’t do much, though he got a day off, but we’ve been busy collecting our little darling’s stuffs and waiting for guests to come to visit us as they wanted to see our little darling. But what happen? It’s already coming to 5pm NOW and where are the guests? Really a waste of our time, HE claimed, else we’d gone out ! Hmpf!

Jewel’s Full Month

October 10th, 2005 by miracleoflife

Wow, it’s just so tiring yesterday, in fact, for the entire week. But it’s all worth it. What was I busy with? Well, preparing for our darling Little Koala aka Xiao Dou Dou aka Jewel’s full month. It’s so fast! Can’t believe she’s been a member of our family for a month already. She really brings joy and laughter into our lives. Hmm…let me recall how we celebrated her full month yah? I woke up early morning, fed her and waited for her to fall back to sleep after her first morning feed. Finally, can do my own things now! Started tidying up the house a bit. Ding Dong! The doorbell sounded. Guess who? It’s the delivery guy who came to send the full month’s gifts we got ready for the guests who came to her celebration. It’s the first time I saw the gifts. I like it alot hee~ luckily I ordered extras for myself. Smart move yah? Okay, skip the itty gritty details. Guests started to stream in at around 12nn. My bestest NIE friends are the earliest lar…teachers what….what to do? Hee~ girls thanks for coming yah? So happy to be able to meet up old time friends and my bestest friends in school…haven’t seen them for ages liao! Miss them all…Girls, miss you much leh! Hope to see all of you realy soon. Joseph. not forgetting you. I’ll try to stuff a cushion next time I see you k? Hee~ What had Jewel been doing while we ate, talked and be happy? She’s happily sleeping! Waking up only for mum mum hee~. As for Dino…that kay-poh dog was busy entertaining our friends and relatives too! And guess what happened after all the guests left? Our darling Dino went MIA…and no one was aware of his disappearance. We went level by level in search of him and finally found him on level 7…silly dog. Think he was scared too…came home the whole night didn’t eat hahaha serve him right!

Bits of My World

June 17th, 2005 by miracleoflife

Nothing beats a time when you can just sit back and relax with some good music, great movies or excellent books at hands. If you permit, let me lead you to some of the finest stuffs in my life.

Music : Mike Strickland - Piano Jazz (the album I played throughout my wedding), The Very Best of Relaxing Classics 2, All Disney Albums, any songs in any musicals.

Movies : The Sound of Music (Must try if you haven’t! Can’t believe I’ve watched it for more than 10 times so far!), Phantom of the Opera, any horror flicks (too bad can’t watch it now!).

Books : I read mostly magazines or self-improvement books. Can’t stand fictional books! They are way outta the world, guess we already got too many "unreal" stuffs to live with.

Family ties are precious things
woven through the years,
of laughter, love and tears.

Family ties are cherished things
forged in childhood days,
by love of parents deep and true,
by tradition, by family ways.

Family ties are treasured things
and far though we may roam,
the tender bond with those we love
still pull our hearts toward home.
